“My time learning with Fletcher was both uplifting and transformative. I was in middle school, and Fletcher came into my life at a time when I was losing confidence in my abilities. Drowned out in jumbo-sized public-school classrooms, I struggled with multiple learning differences and fell behind my peers. When I began to work with Fletcher, who tutored me daily at home, I was initially skeptical. My negative experiences in school had shaken my confidence in my abilities, and my normally insatiable desire for knowledge and learning was not what it used to be. By approaching every lesson with patience, compassion, and his own love for learning, Fletcher helped get me back on track. Under his guidance, I began to develop an ever-expanding toolkit of learning skills that carried me through high school, college, and beyond with success. When looking back on my path so far, I see the almost two years I spent with Fletcher as a key steppingstone on my journey to where I am now, which I am incredibly thankful for to this day.”

“I was a PhD candidate in Education at UMass when I first heard about Fletcher through a classmate — and then realized I already knew his work. I had overheard him coaching students while I was renting a room in his mother’s home during a visit from NYC. At the time, I was struggling with a de ep writing block and an unexpected sense of doubt about whether years in academia were preparing me to become the kind of teacher, advisor, or dean I envisioned. Fletcher helped me reframe my uncertainty as a normal and even necessary part of scholarly growth, guiding me in taking ownership that my research and ideas were justified and making a meaningful original contribution to the existing literature, rather than minimizing them He encouraged me focus on clarifying my methodology, strengthening the transition between my findings and discussion, which ultimately set up a sharpened conclusion. Perhaps, the most memorable advice was Fletcher encouraging me to honestly reflect on belongingness as a personally lived experience, in addition to my primary research. I met my dissertation defense deadline, earned my doctorate in May (2021), and today I serve as an Associate Dean at Middlebury College. Fletcher’s support didn’t just help me finish my PhD — it helped me trust my voice as an educator and leader.”

“I worked with Fletcher on professional and academic writing during a major career transition. His feedback was precise, honest, and transformative. He didn’t just edit my work — he taught me how to organize my thoughts, refine and ultimately explicate myself in more cohesive language to reach my audience, whether an individual or group. Learning cognitive flexibility and importance of making more of an intentional effort to shift between academic, analytical and professional writing, as well as always considering syntax, tone and diction to best accommodate student’s needs, even at the individual level, has helped me to be a more impactful teacher and communicative leader.“

“I first worked with Fletcher years ago while attending an international high school in Paris, where he supported me with academic writing, math, IB coursework, and SAT preparation. As I finished University in Madrid and I prepared to apply to graduate business schools, I sought him out again. His ability to adapt across systems, countries, and stages of life is exceptional. Fletcher doesn’t just prepare students for exams — he prepares them for thinking at a higher level.”

“The strategies that I learned from Fletch while prepping for the GMAT helped me to make adjustments based on my strengths and weakness. My natural inclination was to focus on studying the questions that I consistently missed, but I ended up getting much more value out of learning to recognize the questions that I would get right quickly and scoring all these possible points before using the remaining time on the rest, without so much pressure.”

“What distinguishes Fletcher is not just his mastery of test prep, but his philosophy of learning. He reframes standardized exams as problems of reasoning, clarity, and self-regulation. His approach consistently produces results while also empowering learners to think independently. Fletcher has simplified and is redefining what test preparation should look like for adults and professionals.”

“I came to Fletcher after years away from school or any standardized testing and carried a lot of self-doubt about whether “I still had it.” What surprised me most was that he didn’t just teach GRE content — he helped me understand how my brain works under pressure. Within weeks, my practice scores stabilized and my confidence shifted. This felt less like tutoring and more like learning how to think clearly again.”
-
“This was the first time I felt aligned that I felt aligned and in control of how I actually learn. Fletcher helped me break old habits, manage time pressure, and approach questions strategically instead of reactively. I’d recommend him to any professional serious about graduate school or learning in general.”

“Fletcher has a rare ability to make complex thinking feel accessible. Whether in a classroom setting, individual session or casual advice, he creates clarity without pressure. When I worked with him to prepare for the GMAT, I left each session, feeling not just more prepared, but mentally sharper.”

“Fletchers GRE prep goes far beyond content review. He helped me understand how to think under time pressure, how to make better decisions when answers weren’t obvious, and how to stop second-guessing myself by setting rules for myself in advance. My scores improved right away, because as an international student who always carries some doubt about my mastery of English, it felt like Fletcher had taught me the language of the test, something every test-taker must learn.”

“I initially attended one of Fletcher’s GRE webinars in 2022 and was impressed by how engaging and practical it was. I later worked with him one-on-one, and the depth of his approach became even clearer. He combines structure with adaptability in a way that really works for adult learners.”

“As a working professional in New York City juggling a full schedule, I needed GRE prep that respected my time and didn’t treat me like a recent college grad. Fletcher customized everything — pacing, strategies, even how I reviewed mistakes. I ended up outperforming my own expectations (V: 162 & Q:168) and actually really enjoying the process!”

“Fletcher’s personalized way of teaching me to study for the GRE helped me to create a plan that was based on gaining a real understanding of where I struggled or wasted most time, so that I could prioritize questions moving through the test and make best use of the time. Knowing what to do when in the real testing environment was great for both my confidence and score: V: 159 & Q: 162!”

“Fletcher doesn’t rely on gimmicks or many shortcuts — he teaches you how to reason the way the GMAT demands. His ability to explain complex quantitative and verbal concepts in a clear, grounded way made a huge difference for me. I walked into the exam calm, focused, and prepared.”
-
“What sets Fletcher apart is that he teaches the GRE from the inside out. We worked on timing, anxiety, and decision-making just as much as math and verbal. That approach paid off immediately. My scores improved, but more importantly I felt in control on test day.”

“Returning to GMAT prep after years in the workforce felt intimidating until I started working with Fletcher. He met me exactly where I was and rebuilt my confidence step by step. The sessions were efficient, intellectually engaging, and tailored to my long-term career goals — not just the test.”

”Fletcher was with our family for over 10 years; His dedication and unwavering optimism not only helped our two sons develop confidence in their classes by using personalized strategies for studying and managing themselves psychologically, but it helped us as parents to be as supportive as possible. I am a very proud parent looking back at how far we’ve come.”

“Fletcher gets great results. Our son’s score went from 25 to 31 on his ACT exam. The strategies for success that he learned from him will extend far beyond the exam. Thank you for your help!”

“When my son began preparing for his ACT in his junior year, we didn’t want to put too much pressure on him. We had moved to New York from the UK in the summer before 8th grade and the adjustment required some reshuffling of classes and a significant social change for him led to some gaps in his learning, which took a toll on his confidence. Although his engagement and interest in learning improved, he struggled to complete assignments on time and perform well on tests. So, as we began ACT test prep, our goal was to improve his average composite score up 21, which I believe was about average at the time, to 27. In a matter of 3 months, he had not only reached this score with consistency, but he was aiming for 30. We were actually a little disappointed when his first official test was a 29. My son was eager to be done with this process, but after a score analysis, Fletcher showed us that nearly all of the questions he had missed were careless mistakes and that they were grouped in patterns, following particularly difficult questions. Fletcher was confident that by shifting gears to practice techniques for refocusing himself after frustrating questions, and by making sure to read the questions more carefully, he could easily raise his score. Receiving a score of 34 on the ACT turned out to be an incredible turning point for my son — to this day, I recognize it as the moment he started really believing in himself again.”

“An extenuating circumstance in my daughter’s 10th grade school year, left us with no choice but to pull her from school mid-year. I was very concerned about her falling behind as we knew that she would have to take the spring semester off to apply for a transfer in the fall. When I contacted MYLDTutor, Fletcher immediately put us at ease, mapping out both the application process and prioritizing a temporary home schooling plan for the spring, to minimize any learning interruption and ensure compliance with the DOE. Fletcher also offered to step in as our daughter’s home school teacher and was able to coordinate with her old school for curriculum continuity. We are very grateful! “

“We used Fletcher to prepare our son for the ACT. He was excellent. Flexible, sharp, skilled and experienced. We really liked him. Our son felt the strategies really helped and he ended up getting a pretty high score – 34 – which was beyond our expectations! It was wonderful to feel confident in applying to all his top choices. “

“Fletcher Poret continues to be an invaluable tutor for our daughter, Phoebe. As a high school teacher myself, I know the importance of teaching to the student’s learning style in order to make real progress. From day one, I saw that Fletcher was a skilled observer of how people learn. He builds on Phoebe’s strengths with study skills that suit her own abilities. Over time, I’ve watched him choose from an expansive repertoire of methods. He is an expert at boosting confidence through the most pragmatic means possible. I chalk up these successful high school years to our daughter’s work with Fletcher.”

“My daughter was diagnosed with a learning disability at the age of three. She has spent her entire academic career in a school for students with learning disabilities. I was told over and over again that “LD kids don’t do well on standardized tests.” Although I was prepared to accept any outcome, I wanted her to try her very best and not give up before she even tried. Fletcher worked with my daughter on an off for about ten months, spanning the two ACT tests that she took. She did better than expected on the first test and improved her score even more the second time around. Fletcher is a dedicated, patient and talented teacher. He really connected with my daughter, understood the nature of her disability and knew how best to help her. My daughter worked hard and so did Fletcher…..and together they got results. I could not have been more pleased and proud!”
