“When my son began preparing for his ACT in his junior year, we didn’t want to put too much pressure on him. We had moved to New York from the UK in the summer before 8th grade and the adjustment required some reshuffling of classes and a significant social change for him led to some gaps in his learning, which took a toll on his confidence. Although his engagement  and interest in learning improved, he struggled to complete assignments on time and perform well on tests.  So, as we began ACT test prep, our goal was to improve his average composite score up  21, which I believe was about average at the time, to 27. In a matter of 3 months, he had not only reached this score with consistency, but he was aiming for 30. We were actually a little disappointed when his first official test was a 29.
